Junya Watanabe × The North Face

As a former apprentice to Comme Des Garçons' Rei Kawakubo, Japanese designer Junya Watanabe has a knack for finding the perfect intersection of avant-garde designs and ready-to-wear. Through his eponymous label, Watanabe has worked with countless, primarily American, labels, reinterpreting menswear and sportswear classics through innovative use of patchwork, deconstruction and paneling. A prime example of Watanabe's quality are the Junya Watanabe x The North Face collections he's made over the years. Using TNF's quality technical fabrics and designs, Watanabe has created several The North Face collections since their collaborative debut in 2005. Standout pieces in the The North Face x Junya Watanabe collections are the backpack jackets from 2021, which combine The North Face's jackets and backpacks with Watanabe’sirreverent design.
